Kool Kats!

Quite a lot has been happening recently.
Some of which I have poured into my own private entries and some of which I will wilfully share with the lovely 'public' world!

As many probably already know due to my extreme gloating of late, I have bought myself an absolutely stunning red, oriental, under-bust corset from Victorian Gothic. I can barely breathe in it--it's great! Ridiculously expensive it was too! Therefore I had to go through all the usual jargon before it's purchase...

a) What do I own that will suit it?
b) Will I get enough use out of it?
c) Is this too much money to be spending on a single item of clothing?

In retrospect I am thrilled that I did finally decide to buy it. I had been eying it off on several Vic Gothic visits, and the fact that it had remained there all this time must have meant that it was 'made for me'. Well, maybe not, but if I keep telling myself things like this it wont make my wallet pull such a sad face!!

'Wolf Call' was on Cup Eve. T'was brilliant! The event was hosted by Route 66, and it was basically a collection of rockabilly style acts...from cheeky burlesque to toe-tapping jazz. There was also a Texan BBQ and a Barbour Shop in operation; quiffing hair for paying gentlemen. The venue was great and the people were immaculate. It was like stepping back into the late 40's! Just such a cool scene, filled with ridiculously happy people discussing singers and bands I'd never heard of! I had a bit of a dance (which I rarely do) with John and Michelle, got hit by a high-heel belonging to an overly enthusiastic rock and roll dancer and spent large chunks of the night in awe of the fashion, makeup, hairstyles and colourful pin-up girl tattoos that had me intoxicated! Sure the drinks and entrance fee were perhaps a little overpriced, and it WAS all the way out in West Melbourne, but I still came home on such a high! I shed a tear that it doesn't run as a monthly event.

Side Note: There was a freakishly Regina Spektor-esque girl there that I couldn't stop looking at due to the incredible similarities. I hope she didn't think that I was greasing her off! She may not have been as hot as Regina but even still the resemblance was uncanny!

On a totally different chord I saw 'Battle Royale' tonight. Such a twisted concept... but makes for great entertainment! Very gory as most Japanese/Korean films seem to be. I just can't believe that I left it this long to see it. Highly recommended!

New Joanna Newsom album out this weekend! I am both excited and delighted!

Big kiss goodnight.

Joanna Newsom ay! I play some of her stuff at home and my family are like 'hrmmm interesting choice of music'. clearly they arent as cool as us.
Haha clearly!

Yay that's awesome! Joanna Newsom fans are hard to find.

To be quite honest, when I first heard her music I wasn't that keen, but it was all strangely addictive. Now I adore her voice and music!

'Peach, Plum, Pear', 'Erin' and 'Only Skin' are perfectly gorgeous!

I'm so cut I missed her in concert early this year!
